Did you know that First-Time Home Buyers can be exempt from paying Property Transfer Tax, if they meet the following qualifications:
1. The buyer is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. If he/she are not yet a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, but will be within one year of purchasing, he/she must pay PTT buy can apply for a refund once his/her status is confirmed.
2. The buyer has lived in BC for at least one year prior to buynf or has filed tax returns as a BC resident for two our of the last six years prior to buying.
